  121. INTRODUCTION

  123. Astro-World 2.1 is an Astrological program for Windows 3.1 with print and 
  124. screen evaluations for Radix-, Synastry- and Transit Horoscopes. 
  125. Furthermore there is a text evaluation of the birth-chart of about 25 
  126. pages. 6 different House- systems the most common being Placidus, Koch as 
  127. well as Equal-House.  
  128. Astro-World is capable of the following features:  
  129. *  Radix-Horoscope, on-screen and printer (25 pages.)  
  130. *  Synastry-Horoscope (about 5 pages) 
  131. *  Transit-Horoscope at the moment without interpretation.   
  132. *  An integrated data-base for people and places. Both  
  133.    data-bases can be expanded to around 2.1 billion entries. 
  134. *  The included database of places has about 2000 localities. 
  135.    Additional location databases are available, sorted by country, 
  136.    and by state for the USA (total 150,000 places worldwide). 
  137. *  Up to ten Horoscopes can be displayed simultaneously in different  
  138.    windows on the screen. 
  139. *  Display windows also include a legend, an Aspectarium, and chart data.  
  140. *  The chart, table and font can be sized or adapted individually in   
  141.    each of the above mentioned windows.  
  142. *  An Aspect-toolbox allows for switching particular aspects on and  
  143.    off interactively. The result is dynamically shown in the Horoscope 
  144.    chart.  
  145. *  The printed evaluation may be set with any available font, and in any  
  146.    size. Headings, body text, aspects, planets and signs may be assigned  
  147.    various colors. Therefore, with a color-printer at your disposal,  
  148.    you can design your evaluations and graphics to be as colorful as 
  149.    desired.  
  150. *  If you don't like the shape of the chart, it can be changed--even  
  151.    including the width of the lines for the circle and aspects.

  153. The Professional Version additionally contains:
  154. *  The provision to add your own texts to the evaluation database and 
  155.    use these texts together or instead of Astro-WorldsÆ.
  156. *  Text output can be redirected to a file, for structure manipulation in 
  157.    a Windows Wordprocessor (ASCII or RTF structure).
  158. *  The Copyright-line with our names is replaced by 
  159.    "License: <User's Name>" providing the explicit 
  160.    right to sell the horoscope-printouts.

  162. This program is not only targeted at Astrologers, but also for people who 
  163. prefer to deal with Astrology in a less serious way! If you just want to 
  164. print horoscopes for you and your friends, this program might be it! 
  165.  
  166. Even for the serious Astrologer, this program in its present version might 
  167. leave a few wishes unfullfilled. However, you will quickly note the 
  168. numerous efforts made to improve the present version in comparison to its 
  169. predecessors--especially with respect to the professional version. Some of 
  170. the recognized items for future addition are Directions, Progressions, and 
  171. a planetary clock. We will try to develop this program in a way that both 
  172. groups of potential users become happier and happier as time goes by, 
  173. particularly in the Professional Version.

  175. Many people will realize that this program offers a great opportunity make 
  176. money by selling horoscopes. It is not unusual to ask for $25.00 and the 
  177. professional quality output from Astro-World should more than support this.

  182.  Spanish and French version are nearly finished (Target release Feb' 1995) 
  183. Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish, Polish, Italian, Greek, Turkish, Slovenian, 
  184. Kroation and Serbian versions are currently being translated.

  186. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

  188. The program was developed on an Intel-486-computer with a VGA-screen and a 
  189. Postscript-Laser-printer under Windows 3.1 and DOS 6.2.  
  190. Astro-World 2.1 will run on every (DOS) Computer equipped with Windows 3.1 
  191. or higher. To obtain a clear graphic image, a VGA display of at least 14 
  192. inches is required.

  194. The use of a Laser-printer or HP-DeskJet 550C will provide excellent 
  195. Printout-quality. Often, the resulting quality of a matrix-printer is 
  196. highly dependant on the abilities of the installed driver. Alas, we have 
  197. experienced some drivers to have problems with Horoscope-chart printing. In 
  198. such cases, our advice would be to try different fonts and sizes.

  200. INSTALLATION

  202. The whole Package will be delivered on two 3-1/2" Diskettes, labeled 
  203. "Setup-Disk" and "Disk 2". If you downloaded the files, make sure that they 
  204. are extracted and copied to two diskettes.

  206. Now, follow the Setup-Instructions in the file: AWINSTALL.TXT 
  207.  
  208. After the installation of the program you must add the TrueType font 
  209. ASTRO.TTF  
  210. The AstroWorld on-line help file (Astro.HLP), contains many details for 
  211. installation and troubleshooting. Simply click on INFO, then Help for 
  212. information.

  231. In case you encounter any Problems with the Program (especially with the 
  232. printout), please refer to the chapter "Known Problems / Troubleshooting" 
  233. in the Help-System. It is a compendium of all questions, which have been 
  234. asked of me by dozens of users during the last two years. Thus, one might 
  235. say, it contains my whole treasury of knowledge about problems to date. 
  236. According to my experience, the probability of finding a solution here is 
  237. very high!

  305. the user for evaluation. Feel free to share it with your friends, but

  307. essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal computer users
